Thanks to Disney, my family had the chance to screen Disney’s Planes this past Monday in anticipation of it being released today. Instead of letting the boys know (because they have been talking about this movie for weeks) we just let them think we were headed to the mall or something, until the noticed the movie theater. Before I get into my (and my boys’) review, if you don’t know what Disney’s Planes is about, here is a synopsis:

Dusty Crophopper (Dane Cook), a small-town cropdusting plane, dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer, but he has two problems: he isn’t built for racing and he, rather ironically, has a fear of heights. So he receives help from a seasoned aviator named Skipper Riley to take on the defending champ of the villainous racing circuit named Ripslinger. Dusty’s courage is really put to the test when he aims to reach heights he never thought possible, giving the world inspiration to soar.
Our family’s Review:
I went into the movie thinking it was going to be a lot like Cars. I wasn’t wrong, not that its a bad thing. I loved the animation and the characters. I mean how could you not be content listening to Dane Cook’s voice for a whole movie? But I found the storyline to be a lot like Cars. Not that it matters because my son’s were glued to the screen.

Hayden had always loved Cars ever since he got the first movie on DVD so he loves anything with driving, flying, and excitement. The racing element of the movie is what really makes him and Noah happy. Racing around the world and getting to see so many different places in the world keeps you glued to the movie screen. I LOVED the different areas of the movie, especially when the planes got to Napal. It was beautiful! Noah got a little ansy towards the end but that’s just his 2 year old spirit. As we left the theater, all he had to say was ” I liked it… I like the movie Planes.” That’s really all the matters right?

Disney’s Planes opened today in theaters everywhere. If you’d like more on the movie, you can follow Planes on both Facebook and Twitter. There are also plenty of games and engaging content posted on Disney.com’s FlewTube including trailers and clips, tutorials and more.

I’d love to take my grandson to see this movie! I think he would absolutely love it! What a cute movie!
