The Magical Trip to St. Louis

April 18, 2016 by Ashley T

This year for spring break, we decided to travel. We haven’t done this very often. Matter of fact, the last trip we took together that wasn’t to my hometown was to Boston about 3 years ago. We were still visiting family so it wasn’t really a family trip.

I was a little worried about being in the car with all the children at once, especially since Olivia is only 6 months old. He doesn’t like being in the car seat for a long time which extended our trip. A 6 and a half hour drive took us almost 8. Both ways. But we enjoyed the time with our kids and that’s what really counts.

The first night, we went to this delicious barbecue place. Of course, we always choose to eat places we can’t have at home. Below is the vlog my husband made for the first day of the trip. Enjoy it.. there will be more vlogs listed below:

We spent the beginning of Day 2 trying to get to the Arch. We planned to take a ride to the top but once we found the place to buy tickets, they were sold out. So the picture above was about as close as we got. We figured that was best so we didn’t have to walk all the way there. We had lunch and did the tour at the Busch plant. My best friend met us there and took our kids that night (Friday night) so we could have our own dinner. Alone. Our 13th anniversary was the Monday before the trip so it was our way to celebrate. We ate dinner then spent about 30 minutes in the casino (before the cigarette smoke pushed us out). Won some money and went back to our kids. You can check out my husband’s day 2 vlog here.

Day 3. Seriously, the shuttle driver really did plan our whole trip. We went to the zoo Saturday morning. That’s where I took the picture above. They have an awesome place called Mary Ann Lee Butterfly Wing which is a geodesic dome filled with tropical plants, rock outcroppings, a waterfall and pool.. and of course Butterflies! After lunch, we headed to the City Museum. OMG, super fun place for kids and adults. I didn’t get any pictures but I’m sure my husband covered it in his day 3 vlog.

Make sure you check out my husband’s YouTube channel. 🙂 Yes a plug for him. He has so much fun making these videos.

Didn't get to watch all of your nhubby's vlogs but based on the 1st one that I did see I'm sure he did a good job documenting your STL getaway. Your dinner on the 1st night looked good & that's coming from someone who doesn't even eat BBQ. Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as your husband did!
